Milk for the masses...at least the masses you don't particularly want to live long happy lives...

The latest scandal of course is the tainted milk, although it's merely the latest in a string of tainted products long before, and since I arrived here. There were the kid's toys with lead in the paint, the inflammable teddy bears, the tainted toothpaste and dumplings, and now the milk...one wonders what is in the stuff we still use that's not been caught yet...But the irony of it all is that the stuff is still on the shelves, just marked down!!! So now we can get sick more cheaply, which I guess is a good thing? As I've said to friends here, I reckon we've all consumed so much chemical product over the years of living in Asia that we're all more embalmed than the pharaohs. Between all the preservatives in India (remember the butter that you could put in the hot sun and it'd get a bit soft, but not actually melt ) and the snacks here that have a shelf life of about 10 years.... Anyway, I've put up one picture of tainted milk still on the shelves as of the 28th of September. Wonder if anyone is actually still buying the stuff? It is cheap, of course...
